This online course presents an overview and introduction about the current status of hybrid vehicles and basic technologies. Hybrid powertrains provide new opportunities to achieve better trade-offs in vehicle designs, for example, between driving performance and fuel economy. An in-depth discussion is provided at the end of the course about the control and design of split hybrid electric vehicles.
Successful completion requires you to receive an 70% passing grade on the course assessment.
There are no prerequisites for this course. A bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or technical field is recommended, but not required.
