Connected and automated vehicles are transforming transportation systems, promising safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mobility. The Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) program provides comprehensive insights into the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly evolving domain.

This online, self-paced program includes three engaging courses. Adversarial Machine Learning explores the robustness of machine learning models in safety-critical systems. Dynamics and Control of Connected Vehicles focuses on modeling, control, and system stability. Social and Behavioral Implications of Autonomous Vehicles and Services examines societal impacts and challenges.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the technical, social, and behavioral challenges associated with the development and deployment of connected and automated vehicles.
  • Analyze and address the robustness of machine learning models in safety-critical applications, including strategies for defending against adversarial attacks.
  • Apply fundamental principles of vehicle dynamics and control to design and evaluate systems that improve stability, safety, energy efficiency, and mobility in connected vehicle networks.
  • Assess the societal and behavioral implications of deploying autonomous vehicles, including equity, accessibility, and new safety challenges.

Program Overview

The program is fully online and self-paced. Learners can complete each individual course to earn a badge or complete all 3 courses to earn a program certificate.

Each course contains 4-6 hours of online instruction. Individual courses must be completed within 60 days. If purchasing the full CAV program as a bundle, all courses must be completed in 180 days.
