Solve complex problems with interdisciplinary knowledge.

Design Science is an interdisciplinary field focused on understanding and improving design systems. Addressing today’s design challenges requires more than technical expertise alone. It demands the integration of engineering and behavioral science. By studying how people create, interact with, and transform systems, Design Science develops methods and frameworks that drive meaningful innovation across industries such as technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and architecture.

The Design Science program taught me how to take ideas from concept to execution, which is exactly what I do in my work now as a Product Development Engineer. It also trained me to look at problems through multiple lenses—technical, human, organizational—and that kind of holistic thinking is invaluable in companies with complex processes.
